German international charter airline Condor landed in Mombasa on Saturday 1, 0ctober 2022.
The nine-hour flight from Frankfurt touched down at Moi International Airport with 88 tourists after passing through Zanzibar, where 122 tourists disembarked.
This is a boost to tourism in Mombasa and stakeholders are optimistic that more charter flights will follow suit and bring in visitors from Germany, Austria, and Swiss among others.
The airline pilot said he is happy to resume flight to Kenya after a two-year absence caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last year, Mombasa received several charter flights from Eastern European countries such as Ukraine and Romania. This has since stopped because of the Russian – Ukraine war.
