The Mombasa ASK show is set to begin in early November

At least 150 exhibitors, both local and international, are expected to take part in the Mombasa agricultural show this year. The show took a two-year absence occasioned by the covid–19 pandemic.

Speaking at the showgrounds in Mkomani  Mombasa, the Agricultural Society of Kenya Mombasa branch chairman Anisa Abdalla, said preparations are underway for the show set for November.  “The show preparations are in top gear, with several exhibitors having been invited to take part in the annual event. While we have continued to approach local exhibitors, we have also extended our invitations to international ones,” she said.

 There will be a harvest festival activity on October 30 and pre-show day on Monday October 31.A judging exercise of trade, livestock and farm produce exhibitions on November 1. The show will officially kick off on November 2 and end on 6.

Under the theme ‘Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade’  Anisa said they have set up stands for the young ones to learn more about agriculture and technology. ‘we have put up stands for the Young Farmers Club and 4K Club where club members will have an opportunity to interact and learn topical issues around agriculture, farming, and technology,” she said. 

Wednesday is slated as governor’s Day while Friday is Maritimes day. Saturday and Sunday are set for family entertainment.
