Watamu set for 7 Island Festival

Watamu is set to hold the fourth seven islands festival scheduled to start on Friday at Watamu, October 7. The festival will run through to Sunday 9, October at Papa Remo beach resort.

“We have organized the festival to try to restore the tourism sector that has been hard-hit by the Covid-19 pandemic and we hope by hosting this event we will attract more Kenyans back to the Coast,” said Ricardo Lenzi, the head of the festival.

A number of entertaining activities are lined up in a bid to give the tourists a never-seen-before experience and shake off the covid – 19 pandemic blues by the beautiful sandy beach with food, drinks, and music.

Friday will begin with eight DJs all of whom are Kenyans. An international singer from Nigeria is also expected. Tickets will go for SH.2500 on Friday and SH.5000 on Saturday.

“We shall have two main acts for the festival led by international singer and performer Oxlade who had a concert recently in Paris and Kenyan’s Sauti Sol band member Bien Aime.  We are very proud to have them,” Ricardo said. The organizers look forward to hosting the biggest festival yet in the region. Visitors are urged to grab their tickets early and avoid the last-minute rush.
